Is it possible to really find love on the Internet?
The answer is a resounding YES!!
Presently there are over 80,000 people connecting to the Internet for the first time every day.
Who are these people? They are working people, homemakers, teens. People of every race and every age group.
Yes it happens; but there are mixed feelings about online relationships these days.
There are some mal-adjusted people online who use the anonimity of a cyber-relationship to take advantage or to just hurt people.
There are those who would question the validity as a "real relationships" or just a passing infatuation for someone who seemingly shares similar interests or views on life.
In this age where the computer has become an integral part of our daily life, it is not surprising people are meeting and falling in love this way. We have all the new places it allows us to visit that we never could have before. We can now do online research, purchase goods and talk to people across the globe.
If we can do all these things, why is it not reasonable to accept that romance can be found here too? Some people say that love that is found through the use of internet is not real but I wonder just how different it is to meeting someone and falling in love through a personal ad in the papers?
The computer is a much better medium for romance for many reasons.
Meeting online does not limit meeting someone to a person who lives in the immediate area.
Talking to someone online (providing that they are being truthful and not playing a part (which is the risk you take) allows each person to learn more about each other by taking away the pressure of a face to face meeting. You are judged simply on personality, not on looks or body language. The awkward silences disappear, and people find that it is easier to relax and be themselves. Talking to someone over a period of time online allows each person to learn about the other in an unhurried manner. Even if romance isn't found, sometimes great friendships can at least result.
